Will Renegade FG Councillors Support Western/City Bypass Through Your Estate?

At the County Council meeting of 20th July, 2009 on the 2nd Managers Report of the Sligo and Environs Development Plan (SEDP) a motion to add an addendum to Section 10.2.7 was proposed by Cllr Tony McLoughlin was proposed and seconded by Cllr Veronica Cawley and carried by elected members. The Addendum and Section 10.2.7 protects high density residential areas of Knappaghmore, Ballydoogan, Aylesbury Park, SeaView Park, Kevinsforth Heath, Carton aswell as Cumeen and Carrowmore.

Upcoming Council Meeting on 2nd Nov – 3rd Managers Report

On 2th November, 2009 there will be a meeting of Sligo County Council to discuss the 3rd Managers Report in relation to the draft Sligo and Environs Development Plan (SEDP) 2010-2016. In that report the County Manager has recommended the deletion of Section 10.2.7 and its Addendum from the SEDP. The reason for the inclusion of Section 10.2.7 was to prevent a Western/City Bypass being constructed between the high density residential areas between First and Second Sea Road impacting Ballydoogan, Knapaghmore, Carrowmore, Cumeen, SeaView Park, Brooklawns, Sraid na Mara, Oakfield …
